A vote for Ritter is capitulation to the Right, not "inching things to
left".

"Even a centimeter is better than what we have now!"

Ritter is no better than Owens.

"By refusing to vote you are letting others decide."

Others have already decided. The Right has decided to offer voters a
choice between two right wing candidates. It is up to us to show them
that they cannot continue to get away with that.

"We have to participate in the crappy system we have now so that we can
change it and make it better for the future."

That is what lesser-evilists said 50 years ago and it is what has brought
US politics to there it is now. We have what we have now because
Americans have been voting for the lesser evil for over half a century.
It is well past time for people to take personal responsibility for their
political decisions and not vote against their beliefs and principles. It
is long overdue. That is why the Greens exist. We should have run a
candidate for governor. It is regrettable that we did not. That is not a
reason to vote for Ritter, who personifies the antithesis of Green
politics.

This conversation should not even have to take place among Greens.
Greens, of all people, know the folly of lesser-evilism and should act
accordingly.

Sandy
